BABE RUTH BASEBALL 15-16 DIVISION

THE 15-16 DIVISION is one of 3 BABE RUTH BASEBALL Divisions offered by CCYL.  Baseball League Age is determined by how old the player will be on April 30, 2010.  All Babe Ruth Baseball games are played on the regulation 90-foot diamond/60-foot 6-inches pitching distance.  All new players to an age division will likely be required to attend the player skills evaluation which will be held March 13th, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, and March 14th, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM, at the Armory in La Plata.  Opening Day for all the Babe Ruth divisions isn't until May 10th, right after high schools finish their regular season, and runs for about 7 weeks to the end of June.  This way players can play both with minimal conflict.

This section is for the 15-16 age group, which per Babe Ruth Baseball, allows players born on or after May 1, 1993 to play.

Bats: Players in the 15-16 CCYL Babe Ruth Baseball division are required to use only -3 BESR rated or wooden bats. This is done for safety reasons, mostly to protect the pitchers, and is consistent with the national high school standard.

Mandatory Play Rule: In the CCYL 15-16 Division, every player must play at least 2 innings in the field and bat once.

Schedule: The CCYL 15-16 division will probably have 2 to 3 teams and thus will most likely play interleague games with St. Mary's & Calvert counties. The 15-16 Baseball division will likely be scheduled to play 2 to 3 games per week on Mondays through and Fridays, though make-up games may be made up on weekends.  Every effort will be made to avoid weekend games if at all possible.

If you have any questions please contact the Babe Ruth Baseball Commissioner, Chris Strissel, at
 .

***The last day to register & be guaranteed a spot is March 6th.  After that a $10 late fee applies plus there is no guarantee your child will have a spot on a team, they may be wait-listed.  This is because we have to plan for the number of teams, get managers, order uniforms, etc.  However, we will do whatever we can to get all the kids in the league that we can.
