10U MINORS Baseball: This level plays on the standard 60-foot diamond/46-foot pitching distance and will transition kids from the pitching machine experienced in the previous Rookie level of baseball to a live opponent pitching to them. Baseball League Age is determined by how old the player will be on April 30, 2010. Players will expand from the baseball basics to a more competitive and skilled league that will emphasize proper hitting techniques, base running, pitching, and fielding situations. Players will be among teammates of their own age and approximate experience level, and will continue to refine their fundamental skills while understanding the games strategies, and team experiences. 10U Division tournament all stars experience the chance for post-season tournament competition with the chance at district, state, and regional levels of play. The 10U Division is designed for 9 and 10 year old players, however, 8 years olds playing at a high level may also be considered on a case-by-case scenerio and allowed to attend the player skills evaluation which will be held February 20th and 21st at the Armory in La Plata. All players new to the division must be evaluated and subsequently drafted for the purpose of creating teams of equal strength. The 10U BB division will be scheduled to play 2 games per week. Most likely, one game will be played on a weekday and every team will play on Saturdays. Practices will likely be held during the weeks before the start of the season as well as during the season. Practice and game times may vary, with practice and game locations being held at various fields throughout Charles County.

***The last day to register & be guaranteed a spot is February 7th. After that a $10 late fee applies plus there is no guarantee your child will have a spot on a team, they may be wait-listed. This is because we have to plan for the number of teams, get managers, order uniforms, etc. However, we will do whatever we can to get all the kids in the league that we can.
